Description
The SUSS PhD Scholarship aims to support applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence and whose proposed research aligns with the research focus of the Singapore University of Social Sciences and expertise of our faculty.
Benefits
Before Qualifying Examination:

Permanent Resident: S$2,400
International Student: S$2,200
After Qualifying Examination:
Singapore Citizen: S$3,300
Permanent Resident: S$2,900
International Student: S$2,700
Eligibility
You must be an applicant seeking admission to one of the three PhD programmes offered by SUSS, and have at least a 2nd Upper Class Honours Degree from a reputable university or equivalent qualifications. The three PhD programmes are:
- the Doctor of Philosophy programme offered by the Office of Graduate Studies;
- the Doctor of Philosophy programme (Gerontology) offered by S R Nathan School of Human Development; and
- the Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) programme offered by the School of Science and Technology.

Application deadline
No separate application to the Scholarship is required. Eligible applicants to the PhD programme are evaluated on a merit basis. Shortlisted applicants will be notified to attend an interview by end May/end November.
The decision of the Student Awards Committee of SUSS is final and binding, and no reasons will be given for the non-selection of unsuccessful candidates. No appeals will be entertained.
