Benefits
$28,854 per year for up to 3 years
Eligibility
Essential criteria:
- Eligible candidates must have a Bachelor degree with First Class Honours or equivalent; and Master's degree with a significant research thesis component and/or relevant experience.
- Must have secured an offer of admission into the PhD program in International Relations.
- Prospective domestic candidates are eligible.
- Prospective candidates must be able to commence their program in 2022.
Desirable criteria:
- Demonstrated technical skills in computational social science, regional studies, data analysis, or computer programming (with a strong preference for R or Python).
- Competence in both qualitative, quantitative and/or computational research methods.
- Social media data collection and analysis skills (e.g. Natural Language Processing (NLP), text mining, network analysis).
- Data visualisation skills.
It may be advantageous to have skills in related areas such as: content analysis, corpus linguistics, humanitarian data analysis, population analytics, econometrics, social informatics, big data analysis, geospatial analysis, immersive analytics, interaction design, API programming, or machine learning / deep learning.
