Description
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Waikato have agreed to collaborate on a designated doctoral (PhD) programme which is offered to excellent students from China.
Admission into the PhD programme at the University of Waikato is required.
Benefits
Tuition fees paid for up to 48 months and other expenses paid at the discretion of the CSC.
Students who receive a scholarship are provided with a living allowance as prescribed by the Chinese government for the term of the scholarship, return airfare to New Zealand by the most economical route, student visa and the cost of health insurance.
Eligibility
- The programme aims to foster long-term research cooperation between the University of Waikato and Chinese universities.
- To be eligible for PhD or Higher Degree study you must have completed a Bachelor with Honours or a Masters degree, which has a significant research component. A research component must be a thesis, dissertation, or research project which makes up at least 25% of one year’s study of your entry qualification. Research methods papers are not counted as a research component.
- Masters degrees that do not meet the research component requirements are not qualifying degrees for entry into Higher Research Degree study.
- You must also have achieved a minimum of Second Class, First Division, in your qualifying degree.
