Description
Scholarships are given on the basis of meritorious achievement and can include things like extra-curricular activities, demonstrated leadership ability and volunteerism. Recipients are acknowledged for their past achievements, and the reward is given to encourage further study and accomplishment. This means that students must be registered to receive their scholarship. Many scholarships at the University of Guelph do not require students to apply, but some require an application.
Preference will be given to a student in the field of cardiology but, if no suitable cardiology candidate is identified, preference will then be given to students focusing on small or companion animals.
Benefits
The scholarship is worth up to 2 awards every 4th (or 5th) year of up to $141,000 payable over 9 semesters ($47,000/year) or up to $192,000 payable over 12 semesters ($48,000/year)
Eligibility
- Students entering a full-time DVSc program in the Department of Clinical Studies and specializing in Cardiology.
