Description

This Stoneymeadow Myra Scholarship was established in memory of Myra, through the estate of a lifelong advocate for animals who believed in the importance of advancing companion animal health. Admission application will be used to identify a recipient.

Benefits

The scholarship is worth one award of up to $180,000 (Payable over 9-12 semesters, $45,000/year).

 

Eligibility

  • Selection will be based on weighted rubric: DVSc Program Admission Average (25%), evidence of Interest in Clinical Pathology (student pathology club member or leader, ACVP/ASVCP conference attendance and/or presentation) (25%), experience in Clinical Pathology (externship in subject matter, rounds attendance) (15%), interview (subject matter knowledge, awareness of program structure) (25%), reference letters (team work ability, responsibility, leadership potential) (10%). The award is renewable for up to 3 years. A new recipient will be selected every 4th (or 5th) year or as soon as the current recipient is no longer eligible to hold the award (i.e graduated, unsatisfactory academic progress, etc.).
  • Veterinarians entering a full-time DVSc program in the Department of Pathobiology. Preference will be given to a student in the field of Clinical Pathology. If this area is unavailable or no candidate is identified, the award may be given to another qualified DVSc student pursuing companion animal research.
