Overview

Software Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) programs lead to a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (EngD) degree. These programs are given under the banner of 4TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute, a joint initiative of the four universities of technology in the Netherlands. The ST program is part of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Eindhoven University of Technology.

After Graduation

More than 470 trainees successfully finished the Software Technology program since the foundation in 1986. A large majority started and proceeded their career in the Netherlands, especially in the Eindhoven Brainport Area. From software architect to entrepreneur, an ST graduate has many career choices.

Our alumni demonstrate that the diploma enhances the career opportunities. Industry offers engineers from our program excellent jobs, because they know that our graduates have gained superb qualities. Most graduates find jobs like software or system designer, (senior) software architect, and in the long term, system architect.

General requirements

To be eligible for a traineeship position you need to have (the equivalent of) an accredited B.Sc. degree (at least three years and 180 ECTS) in computer science (or a strongly related scientific or engineering discipline) combined with min. 5 years of relevant academic work experience or an accredited M.Sc.-degree (preferably at least 120 ECTS) in computer science or a strongly related scientific or engineering discipline with a significant number of computer science courses from an internationally recognized research-oriented university.
Additionally you need to have better than average social and communicative competencies, including an excellent English proficiency in writing, speaking, reading, and understanding.
