Curriculum includes:
- The first year of a PhD usually includes a literature review specific to your thesis and topic, or PhD by Papers topic(s).
- You'll begin to undertake your research and relevant training. Your thesis is usually written in stages over the course of your PhD, and you’ll receive regular feedback.
- Alternatively, the PhD by Papers gives you the choice to write a thesis made up of several separate, but thematically similar, papers. These are written in the style of philosophy journal articles.
- You’ll continue to research and write your thesis or PhD by Papers.
- During your studies you’ll be encouraged to present your research to the wider academic community and to the public at seminars and conferences, or even submit work for publication in specialist journals.
- You’ll be assessed at the end of your PhD. This will either be through a traditional thesis of up to 80,000 words, or a PhD by Papers thesis made up of several academic papers.
