Students in the program produce provocative research and creative work in cultural studies and ethnography, performance theory and criticism, and the adaptation and staging of narrative texts.

The Performance Studies program at Northwestern University works closely with other departments and programs within the University. Coursework and research draws from anthropology, African studies, Asian American studies, African American studies, gender studies, radio-TV-film, theatre & drama, and others.

Admitted students must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree — or an equivalent non-U.S. degree — from a regionally accredited institution.

TGS will accept applications from international students with 3-year bachelor's degrees.

You may be considered for admission before you finish your undergraduate degree, but you must complete that degree before you enroll at Northwestern.
