Our faculty and courses represent a compelling range of theoretical, historical and critical approaches to literature across the historical sweep of English-language literatures in all genres from their very beginnings to today’s global spectrum of voices and expressive forms.

Study with prize-winning graduate faculty in American, British, Canadian, Postcolonial, Diasporic, and World Literatures.

Study in depth the periods of Medieval and Renaissance, 18th-century and Romantics, Victorianism and Modernism, the 20th-century and the truly contemporary with an array of disciplinary theories that will energize and change how you read and think.
