Many of our faculty members are engaged in the elucidation of the structure and function of proteins, the function and development of the body and brain, the mechanism of sensation, and the development of methods for processing and displaying biological images and data.

Pure science such as biophysics, structural biology, and brain science, engineering such as medical engineering, image engineering, and information engineering, and their fusion research are being conducted.

It is an attractive study environment for those who want to seek the truth that underlies everything, and for those who want to contribute to society through manufacturing. There are almost no other courses in Japan that include biology, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, system engineering, etc. in the curriculum.
