Overview

The International Environmental Security Leadership Program at Tohoku University fosters a comprehensive way of thinking that is crucial for international environmental leaders.

The program seeks to equip students with a sense of internationalism, practical know-how, management capability, and the individual leadership and group-minded orientations inherent in strategic planning.

Features

Students will take courses for IESLP in addition to completing the requirements for the masters or doctoral degrees issued by either of the two departments making up our graduate school: the Department of Environmental Studies for Advanced Society and the Department of Frontier Sciences for Advanced Environment.

As part of either of these degrees, you will join the research laboratory of a faculty of your choice at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies.

Eligibility:

Those who (will) have earned a master's degree by September 30.
Those who (will) have engaged in research activities for at least two years at an educational or research institution after their graduation from a university and have been recognized by the Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University on the basis of their research performance to have a scholastic ability equivalent or superior to those who have earned a master's degree.
Those who will reach 24 years of age by September 30 and have been recognized by the Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University through an individual qualification examination to have a scholastic ability equivalent or superior to those who have earned a master's degree.
