What you'll learn

The students in the Clinical Experimental Oncology programme at Medical University of Vienna investigate the cellular mechanisms of carcinogenic and chemopreventive compounds as well as newly developed cancer therapeutics. Translational research projects develop diagnostic procedures, new therapies, and preventive strategies. Intervention studies and Phase I clinical studies assess the impact of preventive strategies and evaluate the suitability of diagnostic markers. Novel therapeutics and diagnostic procedures are evaluated in clinical studies. In contrast to the PhD program Malignant Diseases, the PhD thesis program Clinical and Experimental Oncology is more applied and clinically orientated.
