- Barts Cancer Institute currently consists of six research centres, driven by a strong translational theme, with emphasis on specialised research areas, which focus on specific cancers. At the forefront of a number of scientific and medical discoveries, the Institute is one of the largest of its kind in the UK. The research can be broadly categorised into the following research centres:
- Centre for Cancer Biomarkers & Biotherapeutics
- Centre for Cancer Cell & Molecular Biology
- Centre for Cancer Evolution
- Centre for Haemato-Oncology
- Centre for Tumour Biology
- Centre for Tumour Microenvironment
- The Barts Cancer Institute, often called BCI, has over 100 research students undertaking PhD or MD Res degrees. These students carry out an original research project in one of our Institute laboratories at Charterhouse Square campus. There are a wide variety of funding oportunites available, including research grants, college studentships and international scholarships.
