Our Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering PhD programs at Johns Hopkins University draw upon the excellence of our faculty and are strengthened through our collaborations across the university, including with the renowned Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and other departments in the Whiting School of Engineering.

Our faculty growth has enabled us to deepen our expertise in computer simulation, machine learning, and nanoscience, and all of our graduate students benefit from the interdisciplinary research collaborations we have with colleagues across the school and university, including in the Institute for NanoBioTechnology, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, and nearby government laboratories, including the NIH and NIST.

Three letters of recommendation are required and should be submitted before the application deadline in order for your application to be fully considered.

When you list your recommenders’ email addresses, the Apply Yourself system will provide them with instructions for submitting their letters of recommendation.

We are able to accept recommendations via the Interfolio system. Please use graduateadmissions@jhu.edu to have the letters sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions and they will be added to your application.
