The doctoral student’s reflection on one’s own practice is an important tool for knowledge development and renewal and is situated alongside knowledge of the profession’s discursive context.

The Doctor of Philosophy degree programme in Crafts at the University of Gothenburg places significant emphasis on the students’ ability to anchor their own creative work in arts-based practice, theory, and methodology and to clearly position themselves in an artistic research field where art and science are in dialogue.
