About the programme

A common feature of our doctoral students’ research projects in Conservation at the University of Gothenburg is that they relate in some way or another to the conservation and development of our cultural heritage.

As the field is broad and diverse, a number of different methods, approaches and scientific perspectives, taken from the natural sciences, the humanities, the social sciences and artistic research, are used. Many of the projects are carried out in close collaboration with professional actors in conservation in the community.

A person meets the general entry requirements if he or she has been awarded a second-cycle qualification, or has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle.
