Overview
About the programme
The One Health and Urban Transformation graduate school is hosted in Bonn (Germany), at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) in cooperation with multiple institutes of the University of Bonn, the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE) of the University of Applied Science Bonn Rhein-Sieg (HBRS), and the United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS).
Currently, the graduate school is conducting research in four metropolitan regions all over the world: the Ruhr Metropolis (Germany); Ahmedabad (India), Accra (Ghana), and São Paulo (Brazil).
Programme Structure
The research concept is based upon four interconnected dimensions:- Holistic One Health (integrative approaches to sustainable development)
- Urban Transformations (comparison of the Ruhr Valley with three urban metropolitan areas)
- Cross-Cutting Topics (food security, water, hygiene, public health, health systems, society)
- Integrated Work Packages (recognition, analysis and coping mechanisms of societal urban challenges)
