Overview
The Precision Tests of Fundamental Symmetries in Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Atomic Physics and Astroparticle Physics at Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics is devoted to fundamental physics, which has the goal to identify, understand and explain the most basic laws of Nature.
Features
- The scientists involved in the IMPRS try to push forward the frontiers of our knowledge on fundamental physics both theoretically and experimentally, be it with low-energy neutrino and dark matter investigations, ultra-precise ion traps and storage rings, or with high-energy astro or LHC physics.
- Both theoretical and experimental perspectives are covered in the school.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- Electroweak Symmetry Breaking and New Physics
- Structure of IMPRS-PTFSFuture Neutrino Experiments and their Physics Potential
- Fundamental Physics with Penning Traps
- Test of CPT-symmetry and Special Relativity
- Low Background Experiments for Astroparticle Physics
- Flavor in the LHC Era
- Precision Cosmology
