Overview
Features
The doctoral programme in Comparative Literature at the Karlstad University gives candidates the necessary skills to establish themselves as researchers in the field. Students accepted to the programme are both given the broad foundation needed to pursue their dissertations, as well as the opportunity to specialise in the areas of their degree projects.
The programme includes a course in literary theory and method, an individual literary history course, as well as reading courses adapted to students’ needs. In addition we encourage doctoral students, if possible, to participate in some of the national doctoral courses offered by Comparative Literature departments, or to take part in courses offered jointly in the Nordic countries.
