Overview
In addition to knowledge of modern and traditional mathematical procedures, the graduate has an overview of other scientific disciplines (e.g. modeling in physics, biomathematics, theoretical economics, mathematical finance, operational research, probability and mathematical statistics).
The Applied Mathematics graduate at Comenius University Bratislava has the ability to design and analyze mathematical models in a selected research discipline. The graduate masters at an advanced level computer work, programming and work with modern mathematical, statistical and financial software. The content focus of the dissertations is mainly focused on advanced theoretical analysis and applications of mathematical-statistical methods in the field of mathematical modelling.
Career opportunities
The main goal of the doctoral programme is to prepare for independent scientific work. Therefore, graduates are employed at the departments of mathematics at home and abroad. They will find employment in research institutes of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and abroad. Furthermore, the graduates successfully apply in specialized analytical teams at the Government of the Slovak Republic, the Institute of Financial Policy, the Value for Money Department and others.
