Upon the successful completion of the four-year doctoral education of NUS, the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (Joint) students will be conferred PhD Degree in Science or Engineering by National University of Singapore.

Programme Structure

Curriculum:

The students will spend their 1st year of study in Singapore and pass the first doctoral qualifying exam.

They will then spend the 2nd and the 3rd year at the Joint Institute in Fuzhou and pass the second qualifying exam.

In the 4th year, the students will return to Singapore to complete the thesis and pass the oral defense before obtaining the PhD degree. To date, the Joint Institute has recruited 26 postdoctoral researchers.
