Key Facts of the PhD in Engineering for Energy and Environment from Università degli Studi della Tuscia
The main objective is to provide an interdisciplinary vision of engineering problems in the energy and environment sectors, characterized by a high technological development. The research activities will be aimed at the study of engineering solutions, processing technologies and innovative numerical and experimental investigation methodologies, with particular attention to their technological transfer.
The PhD students will be involved in training and research activities in the topics covered by the course, with particular reference to technologies for thermonuclear fusion, energy conversion and storage processes in its various forms, environmental protection, innovations in the fields of mechanics, including agricultural, sensors, biosystems and agricultural issues, with regard to primary production and environmental aspects.
The work of the PhD students will be coordinated by the professors of the college already active in industrial collaborations and research projects, both national and international, in innovative and important topics, such as hydrogen technologies, renewable energy, biomass, biosystems and thermonuclear fusion.
Programme Structure
The skills acquired at the end of the training course will make the PhDs suitable to cover professional and research positions with particular reference to the energy and environmental fields, at:
- professional consultancy activities;
- small, medium and large industries;
- public bodies, including Agencies and Authorities;
- public and private research centres;
- university.

Application to the public competition is open to all, regardless of age and
citizenship, who, by the date this call expires, possess one of thequalifications listed below:
- an Italian “laurea specialistica” degree, obtained according to the Ministerial Decree n. 509/1999;
- an Italian “laurea magistrale” degree, obtained according to the Ministerial Decree n. 270/2004;
- an Italian equivalent university degree obtained under the Italian regulations previously in force, the time-span of which being no less than 5 years;
- a foreign university degree equivalent to those mentioned above.
