Overview
The Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree at University of Memphis requires a four-year post-baccalaureate program of study that includes 99 credit hours including academic and clinical practicum courses. Additional coursework may be required depending on your academic and/or clinical background to fulfill all program requirements.

For admission to the 2026 Doctor of Audiology (AUD) degree program at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, students are required to submit an application to the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS).
Admission to the Doctor of Audiology program occurs only once per calendar year. Students must have a bachelor's degree conferred by Spring to be considered for admission for the 2026 class. All application materials should be received and verified by February 1, 2026 for the Fall 2026 admissions class.
We encourage students with backgrounds other than Communication Disorders to apply. Courses are available during the program which will allow you to complete required undergraduate courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders including 3 semester hours each of language development and language disorders.

General requirements
- A Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree: The applicant must provide an unofficial transcript showing that a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent was awarded by an accredited college or university or is expected to be awarded within one term. If accepted to the University of Memphis, the student must provide an official transcript by the end of their first semester. In addition, transcripts from any other college or university attended may be requested.
- GPA: The applicant must have earned an acceptable grade point average, typically a minimum of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0, but departments may make exceptions for students whose overall GPA does not adequately reflect their ability to succeed in their chosen field.
