Overview

The first two academic years of the Doctor of Medicine program from Ponce Health Science establish a solid pre-clinical base encompassing core disciplines and an introduction to clinical skills, behavioral science, and medical ethics. Our interactive and innovative curriculum helps prepare students for clinical in core specialties during their third and fourth year, plus an additional five months of advanced specialty elective rotations.

General requirements

A bachelor’s degree with a strong science background from an accredited institution is preferred. Bachelor’s degrees may be two, three- or four-years equivalent, from an accredited institution and must have at least 120 credit hours.

Completion of General Biology with lab: 8 credits, General Chemistry with lab: 8 credits, Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry with lab: 8 credits, General Physics, Statistic or Calculus: 3 credits

U.S. citizens, U.S. Nationals and U.S. Permanent Residents must submit an MCAT score; international students may submit equivalent standardized exam scores to strengthen their applications.
