General requirements
- English Language Comprehension test results are required for those whose first language is not English and who, within the 12-month period prior to the month of application, have not studied for at least one year at a post-secondary institution where English is the official language of instruction.
- Evidence of successful completion of Master’s Degree
The degree requirements for students in the doctoral program are:
- The equivalent of six graduate level one-term courses, two of which must be taken while enrolled as a PhD student in SKHS.
- Comprehensive Examination, which must be defended orally.
- Thesis Proposal, which must be defended orally.
- A Doctoral thesis, which must be defended orally.
- 80% attendance at SKHS Graduate Seminar Series each year of studies.
Certificate in Human Research Ethics (CORE).
