On the Applied Ethics programme offered at Charles University students will use their experiences and the knowledge gained in the previous research, and they deepen all this, especially in the fields of philosophy, cultural anthropology, hermeneutical ethics, and other social sciences.

- The field of applied ethics will be primarily about dilemmas connected with developing technical and social opportunities, e.g., in science, medicine, economy, government, or the media. Growing scientific, technical, and administrative possibilities come naturally into conflict with the requirements for protecting the human person and their privacy and dignity. - The creation, application, and interpretation of minimum binding standards of conduct
- The so-called “code of ethics”; - solving ethical issues in the scientific and professional workplace
- The teaching of applied ethics such as social, health and medical in various fields of study in vocational schools or universities

General requirements
- The entrance examination consists of a debate on the dissertation research project (max. 10 points) and a test of the basic prerequisites for studying the field and basic orientation in the field (max. 5 points).
- The interview questions verify the candidate's eligibility for the dissertation project and focus in particular on the chosen topic of the research project, which must reflect the theoretical and methodological knowledge of Applied Ethics. Both the quality of the research project and its inclusion in the research projects carried out by the Faculty are assessed. A total of 15 points can be obtained in the entrance examination. A candidate who scores less than 6 points in the evaluation of the debate on the dissertation research project cannot be admitted. The Dean will set the score threshold for admission based on the result of the admission procedure and taking into account the economic and capacity possibilities of the Faculty.
