Finance The Technical University of Kosice (TUKE)

Overview

The Finance programme from The Technical University of Kosice (TUKE) is based on an individual approach to the doctoral student and on the principle of independence of the doctoral student. The doctoral student himself chooses the composition of optional subjects, as well as the progress of the work on the dissertation (in accordance with the regulations of the university). Doctoral students are encouraged to discuss their own research with all faculty members in order to gain the broadest possible view of the issue.

Learning Goals

The educational programme is designed with the goal of: 

• to become familiar with the existing research related to the dissertation topic - both theoretical and empirical literature; 

• to acquire the ability to clearly identify gaps in existing research and to place one's own contribution in the context of existing research;

• to evaluate the own contribution of the dissertation to science and practice as well as its implications for society;

• to master the application of scientific methods to solve a research problem;

• to acquire the advanced analytical skills necessary for research activity;

• to apply a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach combining expertise in economics and other social sciences.
