Overview
Design of Electrical Engineering Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) trains EngD trainees in specifying, designing, building, testing and evaluating complex multidisciplinary systems in the sector of electrical engineering. More recently, we have also taken the trainees from applied physics on board, and we have welcomed the occasional trainee from mechanical engineering. The trainees develop an in-depth understanding of the technical, stakeholder and user requirements so as to bridge the gap between state-of the art technology and commercial (or societal) applications. Upon successful completion the graduate is awarded the EngD (Engineering Doctorate) degree.
Career:
Upon successful completion of the program the trainee will be awarded the Engineering Doctorate degree. This post-master’s degree is an affirmation of experience and in-depth knowledge of systems design processes, theoretical as well as practical. The DEES program has delivered over 300 EngDs, who have been offered challenging and exciting careers in (multi)national companies, including ASML, VDL, Philips, NXP Semiconductors, Canon, Ericsson, Infineon, TNO, Vodafone, Tata Steel Ltd, Wassenburg Medical and many small to medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
