The emphasis on practical aspects attracts students and researchers who wish to expand their expertise or top up their degree programs. The IP has a well equiped Education Center situated in the heart of the campus, that offers outstanding facilities for theoretical and lab sessions in a wide range of biology disciplines. Each year around 900 students follow courses. In 2009 an international PhD program, in life sciences and biomedicine, the PPU, has been created to attract on the campus motivated students, to offer them innovative teaching methods, and to bring them to excellence.
Research
The Institut Pasteur's scientific strategy is built on strong support for outstanding basic research that is primarily curiosity driven. To meet today's and tomorrow's health challenges, Institut Pasteur scientists aim to speed up our understanding of various physiological and pathological processes and to develop new strategies for diagnosing, preventing and treating disease. Their work covers a broad range of research fields including microbiology and infectious diseases, immunology, neuroscience, developmental biology, genetics and cancer.
Career
All along the PhD, but in particular during the third year, the students can follow several seminars or workshop about possibilities for their future carreer. The Institut Pasteur offers also a personalized follow-up to guide the young reserchers to find the most appropriate career pathway.

A Doct-Office is present on the campus of the Institut Pasteur. This office supervises doctoral students in close partnership with French universities and renowned international universities. Institut Pasteur has a strong commitment to doctoral students, both on the academic and social levels.
Housing services
The Institut Pasteur has a partnership with the Cité Universitaire Internationale de Paris ( a residence around 20 min from IP by metro), which includes the provision of 60 units for Institut Pasteur. A housing platform of Institut Pasteur in 3 languages (English, French, Chinese) also offers a lot of solutions to find accommodations. The PPU students have Units at the Cité Universitaire, automatically reserved for the first 6 months of their PhD.
Library services
The Institut Pasteur offers free access to a state of the art Library facility (Médiathèque) with hundreds of scientific journals, the most extensive resources for microbiology, immunology and molecular biology in France and the unique World Health Organization publication repository in the country.
ICT services
Students have a dedicate computer in the laboratory where they are conducting their research project. Free WiFi is on the campus. Students must abide to the institut’s rules concerning internet access and use. Our institution provides an IT support.
Medical services
A Healthcare Service is on the campus, open from 8h30 am to 5h30 pm. It is made by a multi-disciplinary team coordinated by the occupational physician. It has a preventive purpose, it does not make a prescription except in emergency situation. Its main mission: "To avoid any deterioration in the health of workers because of their work"

Student clubs
The student association (STAPA) has two goals: scientific (to promote exchanges between young researchers and experienced scientists by organizing scientific meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences but also an annual international scientific retreat) and social ( to welcome and integrate young researchers to the Institut Pasteur but also help newcomers to settle down in Paris by organizing social events (welcome day, social hours, parties, travels, etc.) bringing people together.

dynamic and diverse
Paris Nanterre University is a vibrant and diverse place, perfect for students in the social sciences and humanities. What I appreciate most is the intellectual openness and diversity of opinions that animate the courses. The teachers are often experts in their field, and they encourage students to develop critical thinking. However, the campus is a bit far from the center of Paris, which can be challenging for some students. Apart from that, there is a strong student community and many associations that make university life very enriching. I recommend Paris Nanterre to anyone looking for a stimulating environment and great freedom of expression.
Want to study, impossible to live
The university is a nice and famous school in France; it has many workshops and interesting lectures. However, the graphic design faculty is a bit distinct from the school. It's chaotic, not well-organized. Teachers put in a lot of intensive work; the schedule is largely loaded. For the Bachelor, it would be fine and even more necessary, but the Master's program tends to be focused on one topic: the thesis. Besides that, the teachers and administration are doing their best: trying to listen students and find solutions. Among those design schools in France l'HEAR one of the best in a communication graphic field.
If i could i would rate it lower.
I hated my time as an exchange student here. Accessing the portal for all the emails is difficult enough. Other than in the fete courses they dont really care about exchange students. Teachers never respond to emails, students are closed off and dont interact with Erasmus students. The teachers talk too fast and its difficult to integrate yourself. I wish I could leave sooner.
