History
The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 828 in December, 2011) and envisioned to become a pre-eminent research and practically oriented health educational institution dedicated to community service.
Education
Today, the university runs 22 undergraduate and several postgraduate programmes in eight schools: School of Allied Health Sciences; School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences; School of Medicine; School of Nursing and Midwifery; School of Pharmacy; Fred N. Binka School of Public Health; and School of Sports and Exercise Medicine. The new School of Dentistry is being incubated in the School of Medicine.UHAS also has two institutes, i.e., Institute of Health Research and Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine. A third insitute, Institute of Medical Education, is yet to be established.
Research
Research is a cornerstone of our identity. Faculty and students at SAHS engage in innovative research that addresses pressing healthcare challenges, contributes to global knowledge, and informs evidence-based practice. From exploring solutions to antimicrobial resistance to advancing diagnostic techniques, our research initiatives aim to make meaningful impacts in healthcare delivery

Campus life
The main campus, including the central administration, is in Ho. A second campus is located in Hohoe. The university began operating in September 2012 with 154 students.

Campus life
campus is a place where people from different backgrounds and ethnicity come together for the purpose of achieving a set goal. campus life can be very interesting, tedious and fun depending on the course of study. What I like most about the university is the fact that they deliver quality education without any sort of discrimination. Everything is on point and this premier university also frowns upon any form of malpractice. I hereby, highly recommend the premier university of Ghana to. everyone
University of Ghana: A balanced experience
