Description
Ph.D. Candidates funded by the EUI contracting states receive a monthly scholarship/stipend and do not pay the programme's tuition fees.
Benefits

Monthly grant: In accordance with the EUI fourth-year grant for 2025-2026 (1,620 EUR per month)
Travel allowance
Health Insurance: Spanish researchers will be covered by the standard EUI health policy for researchers.
Eligibility
In addition to the general EUI terms and conditions of eligibility, the candidates for the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities funding grants must meet the following requirements:
- Not being in possession of a Doctoral degree before enrolling in the EUI Doctoral Programme.
- Official Master’s degree or equivalent transcript including all subjects and marks, or enrollment in an official Master’s degree or equivalent due to be finished by 31 August 2025.
- Citizenship or Legal Residence in Spain. In the case of citizens of the European Union, the residence must be credited through an EU Citizen Certificate issued by Spanish authorities. In the case of non-European foreigners, the residence must be credited through a valid Spanish ID card, NIE. Candidates must attach their valid passport or ID, along with the EU Citizen Certificate or Spanish ID/NIE (if applicable), to the "Passport/ID document" field of the EUI online application form. Failure to submit the required documentation will result in the candidates being deemed ineligible for Spanish funding.

The application for admission to the EUI doctoral programme is automatically an application for a national scholarship. Candidates are required to provide the necessary documents for the assessment of their funding eligibility by submitting them to their EUI online application (see complete details hereunder).
