Description
If you're completing a work integrated learning (WIL) placement and experiencing financial hardship, you may be eligible for the Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Bursaries.
Benefits
You'll receive a one-time payment of either $1,500, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,000. The amount you will receive will be determined by QUT based on your demonstrated financial need.
Only one Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Relocation Bursary can be awarded per teaching period cluster (Semester 1, Semester 2, and summer).
Eligibility
To be considered for a bursary, you will need to:
- be enrolled in a QUT award course and mandatory placement unit connected to that award course
- have received confirmation for a WIL placement and apply for a bursary before the end date of that WIL placement
- demonstrate being unable to meet the costs associated with your placement due to sudden or extraordinary financial hardship
- demonstrate being unable to access savings or any other means of financial support to fund the costs associated with your placement.
If applying for an Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Relocation Bursary, you must also include evidence of your relocation for your placement, along with a reasonable explanation justifying why your relocation is necessary.

To be considered for a bursary, you must submit an application online.
You should only submit an application when you are nearing the commencement date of your placement. They may decline to consider your application if you are applying for a Bursary too far in advance of your placement commencement date.
