History
The history of the higher technical education in Slovakia has started in the year 1762 by the foundation of the Academy of Mining and Forestry in Banská Štiavnica. The establishment of the Academy of Mining and Forestry was important moment in the history of higher technical education, as it was the first educational institution in Slovakia providing technical education at the university level.

Student services
Each faculty and the Institute of Management of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava has its own Student Affairs Office (Students Affairs Office has in the Slovak language more variations: "Študijné oddelenie" or "Útvar pedagogických cinností" or "Pedagogické oddelenie").
Student Affairs Office of a faculty deals with the administrative agenda of all faculty students studying at all levels of study.Housing services
Students can apply for accommodation in 1-3 beds rooms in student houses of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
Majority of rooms look like flats with 1-3 rooms and with common WC and shower.
Students can arrange themselves accommodation in private flats. Real estate agencies will help to find suitable private flat. Prices depend on the number of rooms: cca 300-800 EUR/month.
Library services
Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava has 7 specialised libraries.Each library is located inside a faculty premises.Each library contains literature orientated to respective faculty study programs.Students can enjoy access to scientific databases and electronic information sources, but they can also spend there quiet moments of studying.
Medical services
Health care services are provided by the state and private providers.Students can attend general practitioners for students working at student houses.European Union citizens must prove valid European Health Insurance Card and passport or ID card.Medical treatment provided by private services is available for payment in cash.
Sports facilities
Student houses of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava were built up as complex centers providing students with all services including sport activities.Gym is a part of each student house. Students must arrange attendance days and time.

PhD studies at FEI STU
I have found the study experience as a PhD Student at FEI STU very satisfying. PhD candidates have a lot of opportunities to work on their own research, to travel to conferences and present their work. They have the possibility to apply for research grants specific for PhD students.
The best from slovak art universities
What I really appreciated about studying at FAD STU was the creative environment and the freedom to develop my own ideas within studio-based work. The opportunity to experiment with materials and concepts was especially valuable for me, as it helped me shape my own design approach. I also found the individual attitude of some tutors very supportive and motivating. At the same time, I think the programme could be improved by strengthening the connection to real-world practice. More collaborations with external partners, companies, or international projects would make the experience even more relevant and dynamic. I would also welcome clearer organisation in some courses and more transparent communication of expectations. Overall, I would describe my study experience as inspiring and formative, especially in terms of creative thinking and independence, but with potential to become more structured and better connected to professional practice

I like the clear organisation of the course, but in my opinion the programme lacks a great deal in strengthening the professor-student relationship.
